About the Book
Impressions Incomplete… Volume 1, published by Culicidae Architectural Press—an imprint of Culicidae Press®—is a selection of creative expressions that represents a major departure from the author’s previous works.
The book is a collection of expressed ideas and observations about life that take the form of photos, sketches, paintings, poems, and short stories. The author extracts and analyzes moments in the past that are triggered by his own memories and/or old photos. He vicariously relives both remembered and imagined contexts as he expresses how people are affected by tradition, cultural norms, and interpersonal relationships.
About the Author
Dr. Arvid E. Osterberg is a nationally recognized expert on safety and design standards for buildings and sites. He is a registered architect with a Doctor of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan, a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois, and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois. He was awarded and holds the honorary position of University Professor at Iowa State University where he has been teaching for forty-eight years. He developed and continues to teach courses entitled Design for All People and Historic Preservation and was Co-Founder of the Preservation and Cultural Heritage Program in the College of Design.
